Consider/Approve Bid for Fire Alarm Replacement at Ridgemont Elementary School

Background Information :

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids to replace the fire alarm system at Ridgemont Elementary School (specifications attached).  Funds are available for this purchase within the General Purpose School Fund budget for the current fiscal year as previously approved by the Board. We received bids from two (2) companies, which are summarized on the bid request tally sheet. Individual bids were as follows:

Volunteer Technology – $39,162.00
Townsend Systems – $36,000.00

The low bid was submitted by Townsend Systems in the amount of $36,000.00. This bid is in line with expectations and meets all specifications.

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the low bid as submitted by Townsend Systems in the amount of $36,000.00.
